About the position

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role at CVS Health is a development-focused position designed to prepare individuals for a future Store Manager role. The program spans 16 weeks and includes both virtual and hands-on learning experiences, supported by a team of leaders. The SMIT is expected to engage actively in training, support store operations, and embody CVS values while preparing for potential promotion to Store Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a self-paced, collaborative training program over 16 weeks.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to lead the team.
  • Perform customer care duties to ensure high levels of service.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
  • Engage with leaders in Key Learning Experiences to support promotion efforts.
  • Support the store management team and lead in alignment with CVS values.
  • Engage colleagues in support of the company's health-focused purpose.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor is preferred.
  • Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager role at any location in the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
