About the position

The Store Manager at Kay Jewelers is responsible for leading the daily operations of the store, focusing on achieving sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and team member development. This role emphasizes personal selling, leadership, and creating a People First environment that fosters diversity and inclusion while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the store to achieve sales and profitability goals.
  • Coach and develop store staff to ensure consistent brand representation and customer interactions.
  • Communicate performance expectations and support corporate initiatives to achieve desired results.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences through training and outreach.
  • Develop strategies to maximize sales potential and achieve sales quotas.
  • Identify operational successes and areas for improvement, coaching staff accordingly.
  • Maintain open communication with team members and management, encouraging participation and idea sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain store cleanliness and organization.
  • Manage scheduling to effectively run the business, including both opening and closing shifts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of college preferred.
  • At least 3 years of retail sales experience, or 2 years of retail sales experience plus 1 year of retail management experience.
  • Preference for candidates with specialty retail or jewelry experience.
  • Preference for candidates that are Diamond Council of America (DCA) certified.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with computers, especially MS Office and related business tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective employee and customer relationships.
  • Advanced presentation skills for team member training and customer presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
