About the position

The position is designed for individuals who are on an accelerated development track to become Store Managers at Walgreens. The role involves learning the operations of the store, including both front-end and pharmacy functions, while supporting the Store Manager in daily operations. The candidate will undergo rigorous training, including classroom learning and on-the-job training, to prepare for a permanent assignment as a Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Learn Walgreens' operations and ways of working to lead full store operations across front-end and pharmacy.
• Complete an accelerated development track to Store Manager as outlined in the learning plan.
• Shadow and assist the Store Manager in leading store operations throughout the learning journey.
• Complete rigorous training programs and certifications needed for the Store Manager role.
• Engage with customers and resolve complaints to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Supervise store operations and team members, including opening/closing shifts and delegating tasks.
• Analyze financial and performance data for the store and pharmacy to develop action plans for improvement.
• Support the Store Manager in protecting store assets and administering loss prevention programs.
• Learn to analyze inventory trends and supervise inventory management.
• Participate in community outreach and retail partnerships to grow the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of retail management experience or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of retail management experience.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
• Willingness to accept assignment into a Store Manager position if offered.
• Willingness to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets located within the same hiring area.
