The Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store which includes training, directing and monitoring all department staff. The Store Manager is expected to provide exemplary customer service, maintain store standards, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff and operations, ensuring that the store meets sales and customer service goals.

  • Greet and service customers per company standards of World Class customer service.
  • Train staff on exemplary customer service and hold them accountable.
  • Handle customer complaints appropriately and per company policy.
  • Ensure the store is inviting and shoppable with products in stock.
  • Answer the phone per company standards and assist customers on the sales floor.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety certifications and registration.
  • Manage store and department sales, including Sales per Labor Hour Ratio.
  • Order products from correct vendors to maintain margins.
  • Rotate and stock perishables per company standards.
  • Manage markdowns according to company standards.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and grant wage increases as appropriate.
  • Interview and hire staff with input from department managers.
  • Maintain clear communication with store staff and conduct monthly meetings.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Proactively hire, train, and develop staff for future management positions.
  • Complete operational responsibilities including daily schedules and reports.
  • Maintain store appearance and cleanliness.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-2 years management experience in grocery and/or related retail experience.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to pass food safety training courses and obtain certifications.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Must be cashier trained.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
