About the position

The Store Leader (Manager) at Kate Spade New York is responsible for driving business initiatives, achieving store productivity targets, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role involves leading a sales team, managing store operations, and building brand equity while fostering a positive work environment. The Store Leader will also focus on talent development and community engagement to enhance the brand's presence and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business driving initiatives to build repeat business and attract new customers.
  • Communicate and achieve store productivity targets including sales per hour, adt, upt, and capture rate.
  • Ensure all associates complete the sales training program and develop strong product knowledge.
  • Model and supervise the selling environment, providing coaching on sales training processes.
  • Achieve financial success through improvement of measurable statistics impacting store performance.
  • Hire, train, and motivate a qualified sales team that represents the Kate Spade brand.
  • Provide development for the assistant manager and supervisor with consistent follow-up and feedback.
  • Perform annual performance evaluations with quarterly reviews of employee goals.
  • Network and create positive community relationships to generate business and build a talent pool.
  • Attend company management meetings as required.
  • Communicate the Kate Spade brand aesthetic and philosophy to the sales team and customers.
  • Implement visual merchandising directives and maintain visual standards.
  • Analyze business trends and communicate sell-through and stock levels to increase sales.
  • Provide customer feedback to the District Leader to improve service and sales.
  • Supervise store opening and closing procedures and ensure compliance with operational policies.
  • Conduct regular store meetings for consistent communication with employees.
  • Maintain payroll budget and adjust store schedules as necessary.
  • Supervise operational responsibilities for inventory integrity and loss prevention compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years management experience in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze selling reports and identify business trends.
  • Comfortable making decisions and mediating conflict in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Windows-based software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Prior luxury goods experience preferred.
