About the position

The Store Manager at PHOENIX Retail, LLC is responsible for driving customer experience and store operations while developing and leading the store team. This role emphasizes creating a high-quality customer experience aligned with the Express brand purpose, which is to inspire self-expression and build confidence. Success in this position is measured by the quality of talent, customer experience, and performance against key metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent for the store team.
  • Support a high level of store morale and teamwork among associates.
  • Coach and manage performance and development for all store associates.
  • Build a succession plan for all roles within the store.
  • Create an environment that consistently delivers exceptional customer experiences.
  • Lead and model customer engagement according to the Customer Experience Philosophy.
  • Resolve customer complaints positively and proactively.
  • Analyze business performance and execute clear action plans to optimize results.
  • Manage daily store operations and ensure clarity on goals for all associates.
  • Direct merchandise flow and ensure adherence to company policies.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of previous store management experience with responsibility for annual sales volume of $3 million plus.
  • Proven ability to increase sales and store profitability.
  • Experience in networking, recruiting, interviewing, training, and promoting associates.
  • Ability to travel periodically for meetings.
  • Ability to move medium to large items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous retail experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, peers, and supervisors.
