About the position

Carter's Inc. is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Store Growth Initiatives, Operations and Inventory Management team. This position plays a crucial role in executing the company's retail growth strategy across the U.S. and Canada. The primary responsibilities include supporting store openings, relocations, closures, and remodels through effective project and inventory management. The role is based in our Atlanta, GA office and reports directly to the Manager of Store Growth Initiatives. In this position, you will engage in project management activities, ensuring that store projects are executed successfully from start to finish. This involves collaborating closely with internal business partners and field teams to streamline operational decisions and timelines. You will act as a point of contact for these partners, providing logistical support during store projects and contributing to process improvements by identifying trends and partnering with leadership to implement solutions. Additionally, you will support inventory management for new stores, relocations, and remodels, ensuring that inventory ownership is balanced and optimized based on sales volume and store capacity. You will also handle inventory tasks associated with store closings, including managing inventory and coordinating strategies for liquidating or transferring stock. Reporting and communication are key components of this role, as you will track and report on task completion and project timelines, assist in creating reports, and act as a liaison to the field regarding inventory and operational activities. Lastly, you will provide ad hoc support for various store operations projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing the company's retail growth strategy across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Support store openings, relocations, closures, and remodels through project and inventory management.
  • Collaborate closely with internal business partners and field teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal business partners and field teams, providing logistical support during store projects.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying trends and partnering with leadership to implement solutions.
  • Assist in creating and refining project plans that align with company initiatives and strategic goals.
  • Support inventory allocation for new stores, relocations, and remodels, including preparing documentation and supporting field callouts.
  • Ensure inventory ownership is balanced across store openings, relocations, and remodels, considering sales volume and store capacity.
  • Aid in optimizing inventory levels for the first 14 months post-opening based on current performance and comparable stores.
  • Handle inventory tasks associated with store closings, including managing inventory and coordinating strategies for liquidating or transferring inventory.
  • Track and report on task completion and project timelines to ensure successful outcomes and resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Assist in running/creating recurring and ad hoc reporting to support store projects; summarizing and communicating findings.
  • Act as a liaison to the field through proactive communication on all store openings, relocations, remodels, and closings inventory and operational activities.
  • Partner with field leadership to support inventory activities, including managing store closing transfers and new store inventory call-outs.
  • Provide support for various store operations projects, as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (3.2 GPA or higher strongly preferred).
  • Required to have graduated within 6 months of class start date.
  • Must be able to start in the role full time by June 2025.
