About the position

The Store Operations Real Estate Intern position at Lowe's is part of the Summer Internship Program, designed for undergraduate and graduate students to gain hands-on experience in the retail business. Interns will work with the Real Estate Acquisitions team to support strategic growth initiatives for retail and supply chain locations. This role offers exposure to various aspects of real estate acquisition, including site selection, negotiation, and deal execution, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Learn how a big-box retailer acquires real estate for new stores and supply chain facilities.
• Gain exposure to real estate project processes, including site selection, negotiation, due diligence, and closing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Engineering & Construction, Legal, Property Management, and Finance to facilitate real estate deals.
• Understand various real estate deal types, including purchases, ground leases, traditional leases, built-to-suit, and sale-leaseback.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, real estate, or related fields from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2025 or May of 2026.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
• Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong understanding of financial acumen related to real estate.
• Strong collaborative, innovative, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant internship experience in real estate or finance is a plus.
• Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
