About the position

The Store Operations Real Estate Intern position at Lowe's is part of the 2025 Summer Internship Program, designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students with hands-on experience in the retail business. Interns will work with the Real Estate Acquisitions team to support strategic growth initiatives, manage existing stores, and learn about the real estate acquisition process for new retail and supply chain locations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into various real estate deal types and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Learn how a big-box retailer acquires real estate for new stores and supply chain facilities.
• Gain exposure to the real estate project lifecycle, including site selection, negotiation, due diligence, and closing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Engineering & Construction, Legal, Property Management, and Finance to facilitate real estate deals.
• Understand and analyze various real estate deal types, including purchases, ground leases, traditional leases, built-to-suit, and sale-leaseback.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, real estate, or related fields from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2025 or May of 2026.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
• Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong understanding of financial acumen related to real estate.
• Strong collaborative, innovative, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant internship experience in real estate or finance is a plus.
• Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
