About the position

The Store Operations Specialist (SOS) plays a crucial role in the logistics and operations of the store, focusing on leading and training teams to perform all freight functions effectively. This includes unloading, processing, stocking, and resetting merchandise to ensure that the store is well-stocked and organized for customers. The SOS is responsible for creating a positive shopping experience for customers by ensuring that all operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a strong emphasis on safety, compliance with company policies, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the store environment. In addition to leading the team in freight functions, the SOS is tasked with performing cashier duties accurately, processing transactions in accordance with company policies, and maintaining the 5S standards (Sort, Straighten, Systematic cleanup, Standardize, and Sustain) in the receiving area. The SOS must ensure that all team members are focused on their specialized areas while also being involved in unloading, processing, and stocking freight to the correct locations, following merchandising guidelines. Timely and thorough incident reporting is also a critical responsibility of this role, as is performing store recovery tasks and housekeeping duties as needed during stocking efforts. The SOS is expected to operate all equipment safely and in accordance with directed procedures, ensuring a safe working and shopping environment while minimizing shrink and damages. Executing company directives, policies, and procedures accurately and thoroughly is essential to the success of this role, as is contributing to a customer-focused environment by demonstrating excellent service and communication skills with customers, team members, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and trains teams in performing all freight functions including unloading, processing, stocking, and resets.
  • Provides customers a positive shopping experience.
  • Performs cashier duties accurately while processing all transactions per policy.
  • Maintains 5S standards in receiving.
  • Ensures Specialists are focused first in their specialized areas.
  • Unload, process, and stock freight to correct location, following merchandising guidelines.
  • Timely and thorough incident reporting compliance.
  • Performs store recovery tasks and housekeeping as required during stocking efforts.
  • Performs and trains team on store freight processing and merchandising responsibilities.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., team lift 100 lbs.
  • Contributes to a customer-focused environment while demonstrating excellent service.
  • Communicates clearly with customers, team, and leadership.
