About the position

The Store Operations Specialist (SOS) plays a crucial role in leading and training teams to perform all freight functions within the store. This includes unloading, processing, stocking, and resets, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. The SOS is responsible for providing customers with a positive shopping experience, which is paramount to the success of the store. This position requires a hands-on approach, as the SOS will be actively involved in cashier duties, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies. In addition to customer service, the SOS is tasked with maintaining 5S standards (Sort, Straighten, Systematic cleanup, Standardize, and Sustain) in the receiving area. This involves leading the team in performing all freight functions, ensuring that specialists are focused on their designated areas. The SOS will unload, process, and stock freight to the correct locations, adhering to merchandising guidelines to optimize product placement and availability. The role also includes responsibilities for incident reporting compliance, store recovery tasks, and housekeeping duties, both inside and outside the store, during stocking efforts. The SOS will train team members on store freight processing and merchandising responsibilities, ensuring that all staff are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their tasks effectively. Safety is a top priority, and the SOS must operate all equipment safely and in accordance with directed procedures, while also ensuring a safe working and shopping environment to minimize shrink and damages. Executing company directives, policies, and procedures in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner is essential for the SOS. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train teams in performing all freight functions including unloading, processing, stocking, and resets.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., team lift 100 lbs.
  • Contributes to a customer-focused environment while demonstrating excellent service.
