About the position

The Store Protection Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both associates and customers at the store. This role involves providing a visible presence at store entrances and exits, mitigating theft and fraud, and ensuring compliance with loss prevention directives. The Specialist is expected to greet customers courteously, monitor for potential theft indicators, and collaborate with store leadership to minimize operational shortages.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible presence at store entrances/exits to deter theft and fraud.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner to enhance customer service and deter theft.
• Monitor the sales floor for potential theft indicators and report suspicious behavior.
• Assist store leadership in maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.
• Educate associates on loss prevention initiatives and proper checkout procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company dress code.
• Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
• One year of retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year of loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
