About the position

Citi Trends is seeking a dedicated Store Sales Associate to join their team in Beaumont, Texas. This role is essential for providing excellent customer service and supporting store operations in one of the largest chains in the value-priced urban apparel industry. The Store Sales Associate will be responsible for various tasks including processing freight, handling transactions, and assisting management with store merchandising and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Processing freight
• Assisting with taking price changes and markdowns
• Balancing the register according to company policy
• Calling out prices for customers during transactions
• Bagging merchandise efficiently after completing a customer's transaction
• Handling cash, checks, and credit cards according to company policy
• Obtaining management approval for returns, voids, and checks
• Performing maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned
• Providing proper customer service, including greeting customers and inviting them to return
• Following all safety procedures
• Maintaining a professional and neat appearance, including wearing a name tag
• Assisting management in merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels
• Assisting management with any tasks requested per company policy
• Explaining exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions
• Assisting the Store Manager with loss prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, and reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
