The Retail Store Customer Support Associate position at Lamps Plus is an entry-level role designed for individuals who may not have prior sales experience but are eager to learn and grow within the retail environment. In this role, associates will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the store. This includes practicing retail quality control by counting delivery items to verify the receipt of merchandise, receiving incoming merchandise deliveries, and assisting with loading and unloading items in the store warehouse. Associates will also arrange merchandise on shelves according to style, size, and type, and may assist with inventory tracking, tagging, or labeling of shelving. Care must be taken in unpacking, storing, and displaying retail items to avoid damage and injury. Additionally, the position may involve clerical duties such as filing, bank deposits, data entry, and preparing products for display, which includes assembling and pricing merchandise. Associates will demonstrate outstanding customer service, assist with customer stock checks, and engage customers to address their lighting and decorative needs. The role requires a motivated and upbeat individual who enjoys working with people and providing superior customer service, with the ability to multi-task and lift up to 25 lbs. Availability for day shifts and weekends is essential, and regular attendance is required according to the established schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Practices retail quality control by counting delivery items to verify receipt of merchandise.
  • Receives incoming merchandise delivery and assists with loading and unloading in store warehouse for stocking or restocking items.
  • Advises Store Manager or Support Supervisor of discrepancies or damaged items.
  • Arranges merchandise on shelves according to style, size and type, stocking and restocking.
  • May be required to assist with tracking of inventory, tagging, or labeling of shelving.
  • Uses care in unpacking, storing, transferring, receiving, hanging or displaying retail items, to avoid damage and injury.
  • May perform clerical duties such as filing, bank deposits, data entry, reports, audits, etc.
  • Prepares product for display; includes assembling, inserting bulbs, wiring and pricing of merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Performs other merchandiser duties relative to maintenance of stockroom, sales floor, and displays, such as cleaning and dusting merchandise.
  • May utilize the register or Kiosk to ring out sales or check on product availability, handling all merchandising and currency in accordance with Corporate Security policies.
  • Demonstrates outstanding customer service and focus, assisting with Customer Stock Checks.
  • Assists other team members by pulling product and performing merchandise carry-outs for customers.
  • Answers store phones and assists with Customer Service over the phone.
  • Completes assigned training modules to educate on product knowledge and the selling process.
  • Engages customers to solve their lighting and decorative needs.
