About the position

The Customer Experience Store Team Leader at L.L.Bean is responsible for driving business results and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service within an outdoor lifestyle retail environment. This role involves leading a team, supporting store leadership, and promoting the company's core values while enhancing customer loyalty and engagement through various initiatives and training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Models and fosters an environment where service is the top priority.
  • Enthusiastically seeks opportunities to convert every customer that enters the store.
  • Acts as a Leader on Duty to drive conversion and sales.
  • Analyzes business reports to understand trends and identify opportunities.
  • Builds actions to enhance customer loyalty and improve service metrics.
  • Executes recognition programs and develops meaningful activations to drive sales.
  • Ensures the sales floor is full and all sizes are represented through regular audits.
  • Delivers engaging store activations and community engagement events.
  • Supports and trains associates on company standards and product knowledge.
  • Facilitates new hire product training and ongoing training efforts for team members.
  • Maintains employee communication and ensures startup meetings are compelling.
  • Aids in achieving financial measures and prepares daily task responsibilities for staff.
  • Manages staffing levels and addresses employee issues in accordance with company policies.
  • Participates in health and safety initiatives and ensures compliance with safety policies.

Requirements

  • 2-Year Associates Degree or equivalent education.
  • At least 2 years of retail experience in a relevant retailer.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of systems (POS, Word, Excel) and comfort with social media platforms.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others with a positive attitude.
  • Experience in recruiting and practicing diversity, equity, and inclusion in a retail environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
