About the position

As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the store operates smoothly and provides an exceptional shopping experience for customers. Your primary responsibilities will include merchandising and stocking products, handling cashier duties, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the store. This position is designed for individuals who are committed to teamwork and customer service, as you will be collaborating with fellow team members to enhance the overall shopping experience. In your daily tasks, you will process customer purchases efficiently, perform general cleaning duties, and ensure that shelves and merchandise displays are stocked neatly. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of your role, as you will assist customers with their shopping needs and inquiries. Clear communication with the store management team is vital, as you will be expected to provide feedback on products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and any general issues that may arise. Additionally, you will participate in taking store inventory counts according to established guidelines and monitor inventory for accuracy. Adhering to cash policies and procedures is essential to minimize losses, and you will be required to comply with all company policies while maintaining the security and confidentiality of documents and data. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making flexibility and adaptability important traits for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform general cleaning duties to maintain store standards.
  • Stock shelves and merchandise displays neatly and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with store management.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding products, inventory losses, and scanning errors.
  • Participate in taking store inventory counts according to guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory for accuracy and report discrepancies.
  • Adhere to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses.
  • Comply with all established company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler.
  • Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to stay organized, pay attention to detail, follow instructions, and multi-task effectively.
  • Meet any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
