About the position

As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our store operates smoothly and provides an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include merchandising and stocking products, operating the cash register, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the store. This position is full-time, with an average of 32-40 hours per week, and offers a starting wage of $18.50 per hour. In this role, you will consistently demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the position. You will be responsible for processing customer purchases efficiently, performing general cleaning duties, and ensuring that shelves and merchandise displays are stocked neatly. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of your role, as you will assist customers with their shopping experience and collaborate with team members to communicate effectively with the store management team. Additionally, you will provide feedback to management regarding products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and any general issues that may arise. Participation in taking store inventory counts according to guidelines and monitoring inventory for accuracy will also be part of your responsibilities. You will adhere to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses and comply with all established company policies while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties to maintain store standards.
  • Stock shelves and merchandise displays neatly and accurately.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with their shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with the store management team.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI.
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler.
  • Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to stay organized, give attention to detail, follow instructions, and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Meet any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
