About The Position

The Store Worker - Flex position at the Navy Exchange Service Command involves various duties related to the loading, unloading, and verification of merchandise in a retail environment. This role is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring a clean and organized store layout. The position offers flexible working hours, accommodating up to 19.5 hours per week.

Requirements

• Six months experience performing duties related to loading, unloading, and verifying merchandise.
• Ability to stand, walk, and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Must receive Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads merchandise, examining for damage or shortages.
• Verifies type and quantity of merchandise received against documentation.
• Assists in assembly and loading of merchandise based on requests.
• Unpacks, segregates, and stocks counters and shelves with merchandise.
• May price stamp merchandise as needed.
• Assists in conducting periodic inventories by counting stock items.
• Moves layaway merchandise to designated warehouse areas and stacks according to procedures.
• Returns merchandise to the store as required and ensures proper documentation is made.
• May operate a cash register occasionally and assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
