The Store Worker position at Navy Exchange Services (NEX) involves performing various duties related to the handling of merchandise in an Exchange store. Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads merchandise, examining for damage or shortages.
• Verifies type and quantity of merchandise received against documentation.
• Assists in assembly and loading of merchandise based on requests.
• Unpacks, segregates, and stocks counters and shelves with merchandise.
• May price stamp merchandise as needed.
• Assists in conducting periodic inventories by counting stock items.
• Moves layaway merchandise from retail store to designated warehouse area.
• Stacks merchandise according to prescribed procedures.
• Returns merchandise to the store as required and ensures proper documentation is made.
• May operate a cash register on an occasional basis.
• Assists customers in locating merchandise and answering general questions.

Requirements

• Six months experience performing duties related to loading, unloading, and verifying merchandise.
• Ability to stand, walk, and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds with assistance.
