About the position

The Storekeeper position at United Airlines involves managing supplies, equipment, and materials in maintenance bases and line operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that the Technical Operations team has the necessary resources to maintain the airline's fleet effectively. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions, as well as a commitment to safety and organization in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Perform storekeeper duties in storeroom areas including receiving, issuing, provisioning, checking, classifying, inventorying, and storing supplies, equipment, parts, and materials.
  • Open, package, and seal boxes and crates.
  • Transport parts and materials between various locations, sorting and counting items, and preparing labels and related ticketing documents.
  • Read and interpret documents or instructions to build kits for aircraft change orders, first aid, in-flight, and charter services.
  • Maintain an orderly and safe work area and familiarize oneself with operating procedures, general rules, and regulations.
  • Operate a variety of equipment including forklifts, trucks, tractors, tugs, and electric carts.
  • Handle hazardous materials, flammable materials, and/or hazardous waste.
  • Use a computer to track inventory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic ability to convert units of weights and measurements.
  • Possess a valid state-issued driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Flexibility to work any shift in a 24/7 operation including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.

  • Previous work in jobs requiring heavy lifting and safety awareness.
