The Storekeeper for the Water and Wastewater Business Operations Division (WWS-BOD) is responsible for a combination of clerical duties, manual labor, and limited supervision over a diversified commodity warehouse. The warehouse is an industrial environment. Duties involve preparation and/or completion of purchase requisitions, receiving, storing, issuing, recording, stock counts and security of all commodities and materials utilized. The Storekeeper will utilize a purchasing card, various computer applications (Maximo, Excel, Word, PeopleSoft, and others) to process their work. This position requires the use of initiative and judgment in cooperating with vendors, repair technicians and other county personnel to provide a timely flow of all commodities and services. The employee in this position must be self-motivated and accurately perform assigned duties on a timely basis with minimum supervision. Work is reviewed by superiors for conformity with Departmental and procurement policies. The Storekeeper is expected to be proficient using a Smart-phone and Tablet. The Storekeeper must operate various pieces of equipment (lifts, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other related machinery) and climbs ladders in excess of 16 feet high. Therefore, the Storekeeper for WWS-BOD must be able to obtain a forklift certification within six months of hire, if they do not already possess one upon hire. The warehouse requires 24-hour coverage. In order to provide coverage for services during off-duty hours, the Storekeeper will be required to work a standby duty assignment on a work-rotation schedule as determined by management based on operational needs. The standby duty assignment requires that the assigned Storekeeper be available for work due to an urgent situation on the employee's off-duty time which may include nights, weekends, or holidays. The Storekeeper is required to report to the warehouse within 45 minutes of being called to work, and must be authorized to drive on County business. Therefore, a valid Florida Driver's License is required for this position.
