This position is responsible for the efficient receiving, stocking, and delivery of supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available for proper patient care. The technician will work closely with various departments to maintain inventory levels and ensure that supplies are delivered in a timely manner. This role requires a proactive approach to managing stock levels and communicating effectively with team members and other departments. In this position, the technician may receive supplies and equipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the process. They will stock supplies in the central storeroom, ensuring that items are placed in their proper locations for easy access. The technician may also be responsible for delivering non-stock items to requesting areas and accurately pulling and delivering stock supplies using Kanban cards, computer requisitions, or other means of requisition. Documentation of returns and issues is crucial to maintain inventory accuracy, and the technician will work with the manager to keep storeroom inventory at proper, cost-effective levels. Additionally, the technician will collaborate with patient care areas to ensure their supply inventories are maintained at appropriate levels. This includes stocking alcoves in patient care areas with the necessary linen and supplies. Effective communication is essential, as the technician must report any shortages to the requesting departments and maintain backorder procedures in the MMIS system to ensure timely replenishment of supplies. The role also requires maintaining a clean and organized storeroom and work area, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
