About The Position

The Stores Specialist at American Crystal Sugar Company is responsible for performing various storeroom operations to ensure accuracy in inventory movements, including receipts and issues. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED certificate is required.
  • Preferred: Two-year associate's degree in accounting, engineering, parts management, business management, or related field.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in parts management, purchasing, inventory management, or accounting positions.
  • Familiarity with personal computers and understanding of inventory management and purchasing systems.
  • Knowledge of proper procedures for shipping, receiving, and issuing materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Word software.
  • Knowledge of ACSC cataloging and parts numbering systems.
  • Ability to identify and locate storeroom items in SAP MM System.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of materials in inventory used in the factory.
  • Understanding of factory chemical management program.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification to safely and effectively operate a forklift.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various storeroom operations to ensure accuracy in inventory movements, including receipts, issues, and cycle counts.
  • Evaluate inventory and consumption levels to reduce overstock materials.
  • Coordinate with the direct supervisor to identify and dispose of obsolete materials in accordance with Company Policy.
  • Enter receipts, issues, and returns into SAP in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Run and review the Receiving Report daily for completeness and use in receiving items.
  • Follow and administer storeroom security procedures and policies as directed.
  • Operate a forklift as needed.
  • Run cycle count reports and count storeroom items according to the cycle count schedule.
  • Assist in training new storeroom employees.
  • Run the Storeroom Reorder report and review for reorder within established purchasing guidelines and procedures.
  • Initiate maintenance work requests.
  • Tag inventory and stock shelves.
  • Perform storeroom sanitation and cleaning activities.
  • Assist with the receiving process and kitting of Work Orders.
  • Process inventory returns and coordinate outbound truck shipments.
  • Load and unload trucks and identify and locate storeroom items in the SAP MM System.
  • Participate in the review of obsolete inventory and proper stocking levels.
  • Ensure inventory items are maintained appropriately and perform preventative maintenance on storeroom equipment as required.
