About the position

The Stores Agent at Alaska Airlines is responsible for managing the requisitioning, receiving, shipping, warehousing, and recording of parts, equipment, and supplies. This role is crucial in supporting internal customers and ensuring the smooth operation of the maintenance and engineering team, which has a strong commitment to safety and excellence. The position requires flexibility in working hours and involves driving various vehicles to facilitate the movement of goods.

Responsibilities

• Requisition, receive, ship, warehouse, store, disperse, and record parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist internal customers with their needs for parts and equipment.
• Prepare shipments for flights and ground transportation, including escorting vendors.
• Process orders and perform inventory management.
• Drive vehicles such as pick-up trucks, vans, box trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to learn and operate a computerized inventory system.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and grasping.
• Organizational skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years of warehouse shipping or receiving experience.
• Prior aviation supplier experience.
• Computer literate with typing speed of 25+ WPM and skilled in 10-key.
