About the position
The Stormwater Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the City's Stormwater Management Plan and ensuring compliance with UPDES and MS4 permits. This role involves inspecting facilities, enforcing stormwater laws, and providing administrative support for stormwater programs. The coordinator will also engage in public outreach and education regarding water quality and stormwater management regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee City compliance with UPDES and MS4 permits.
- Assist with internal inspections of City properties under MS4 permit requirements.
- Monitor and stay updated on changing stormwater rules and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and assist in the enforcement of stormwater laws and policies.
- Attend monthly meetings of the Utah Stormwater Advisory Committee and update staff on compliance requirements.
- Assist with implementation of practices for monitoring and inspecting construction projects for compliance with stormwater regulations.
- Review, inspect, and ensure compliance of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
- Assist with maintenance and repairs of City stormwater infrastructure and facilities.
- Implement and monitor Long-Term Stormwater Maintenance Facilities Agreements.
- Provide public outreach and education regarding water quality and stormwater management regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of specialized training related to stormwater management or a related field.
- Two years of experience in stormwater management or a related field.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal stormwater codes and regulations.
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions and manuals.
Nice-to-haves
- Utah State Registered Storm Water Inspector certification or equivalent.
