About the position
WonderMedia Animation Studio is seeking recent college graduates for entry-level trainer positions to assist students and educators in navigating the Story Maker® production pipeline at various school locations in the Antelope Valley. As a Story Maker® trainer, you will employ the Story Maker® technology suite to guide students in the creation of distinctive animated content. Throughout your on-site sessions, your objective will be to instruct both teachers and students on the Story Maker® production process as part of a three-phase visiting artist initiative. During these training sessions, you will visit multiple school campuses to conduct similar yet uniquely tailored training sessions at each site, while also fostering collaborative relationships with administrators and teachers. Before your initial training session, you will receive comprehensive training from the WonderMedia staff on the Story Maker® production process, the Story Maker® software package, and animation production techniques, enabling you to effectively share these insights with students.
Responsibilities
- Guide structured and organic learning experiences with students in grades 4 to 8.
- Lead story-based trainings in school locations across Antelope Valley.
- Assist students in the completion of Story Maker 3D animation and post-production.
- Gather data, assess, and report back on each training progress.
- Attend periodic on-site meetings and additional professional development at Wonder Media Studios.
Requirements
- Experience working with students in groups is recommended (e.g., YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Summer Camp, etc.).
- Ability to communicate information to audiences of varying ages and technical skill levels.
- Experience with consumer and education grade technology (Windows, ChromeOS).
- Experience with photo/video manipulation tools like Adobe Photoshop or Premiere.
- Experience in time-sensitive work environments with clearly defined goals.
- Experience gathering, organizing, and reporting datasets.
- Confident organization and decision-making skills.
Nice-to-haves
- 1 year of education experience (preferred).
- Ability to commute to Lancaster, CA (required).
- Ability to relocate to Lancaster, CA before starting work (preferred).
