About the position

The Store Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring that customer expectations are met or exceeded in terms of shopping ease, product variety, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety regulations. This role involves training and developing store associates, managing financial performance, and driving sales and profit results while demonstrating the company's core values.

Responsibilities

  • Make daily assessments of the store's ability to meet/exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage overall day-to-day operations of the store.
  • Train and develop effective store associates to achieve desired sales and profit results.
  • Coach and develop all store associates through formal and informal interactions.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Lead store teams in planning, implementation, and execution of merchandising and operation initiatives.
  • Work with store leaders to identify opportunities and develop action plans for implementation.
  • Achieve/exceed weekly, period, and annual sales, revenue, and profit budgets.
  • Drive cost-effective sales by maximizing sales and profits and reducing shrink.
  • Discuss store-level financial performance and develop budgets with store leaders.
  • Understand and react to the competitive landscape within the district and store.
  • Utilize field merchandising teams to achieve financial goals and implement marketing plans.
  • Promote strong relationships with local community organizations.
  • Build relationships with union officials if applicable.
  • Communicate necessary information to store associates.
  • Oversee and manage store staffing, retention, and turnover reduction.
  • Provide timely feedback to store associates on performance.
  • Manage labor and supply costs to meet targets.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and division policies.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports on their performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience as an assistant store leader or in a similar role.
  • Successful completion of the applicable division's Leadership Essentials Program.
  • Desired Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience overseeing financial responsibilities, including budget preparation and management.
  • 3+ years of retail experience.
  • Any supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
