About the position

The Store Leader at Food 4 Less is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing store associates to achieve sales and profit goals. This role emphasizes training, coaching, and developing staff while maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities

  • Make daily assessments of the store's ability to meet/exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the store.
  • Train and develop effective store associates to achieve sales and profit results.
  • Coach and develop all store associates through formal and informal interactions.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Lead store teams in planning, implementation, and execution of merchandising and operational initiatives.
  • Work with store leaders and associates to identify opportunities and develop solutions.
  • Achieve/exceed sales, revenue, and profit budgets.
  • Drive cost-effective sales and reduce shrink.
  • Discuss store-level financial performance and develop budgets with store leaders.
  • Understand and react to the competitive landscape within the district and store.
  • Utilize field merchandising teams to achieve financial goals and implement marketing plans.
  • Promote relationships with local community organizations.
  • Build relationships with union officials if applicable.
  • Communicate necessary information to store associates.
  • Oversee store staffing, retention, and turnover reduction.
  • Provide feedback to store associates on performance.
  • Manage labor and supply costs to meet targets.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and division policies.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports on their performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience as an assistant store leader or in a similar role.
  • Successful completion of the applicable divisions Leadership Essentials Program.
  • Desired Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience overseeing financial responsibilities, including budget preparation and management.
  • 3+ years of retail experience.
  • Any supervisory experience.

  • Experience in a leadership role within a retail environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards.
