About the position

The Strategic Account Manager for HVAC Service is responsible for identifying service solution selling opportunities and developing strategic relationships with C-Level executives and key decision-makers in the healthcare sector. This role involves collaboration across various teams to drive growth within assigned accounts, focusing on service and aftermarket solutions. The candidate will act as the primary contact for strategic customers, ensuring their needs are met while expanding the company's market share.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business relationships with end-user clients and create business cases for utilizing Carrier Commercial Service and Aftermarket.
  • Communicate with end-user decision-makers, including C-Level executives and facility management professionals, to maintain and expand relationships.
  • Prepare and negotiate complex sales contracts with multiple accounts.
  • Partner with field sales and service teams, operations, and leadership to support business growth targets.
  • Work directly with building owners to enhance system reliability and improve energy efficiency.
  • Create and implement strategic sales strategies to position Carrier as the preferred supplier.
  • Manage existing Carrier buying group relationships to maximize service and aftermarket sales.
  • Perform needs assessments, develop sales proposals, and coordinate presentations with various internal resources.
  • Prepare accurate sales activity reports, forecasts, and updates in Sales Force.
  • Participate in civic and professional organizations to build a network for achieving sales targets.
  • Collaborate with solutions partners to bundle offerings and expand Carrier's market participation.
  • Collect and analyze market data to engage current and potential customers.
  • Support existing customer relationships and travel as necessary, estimated at 60-70% travel.
  • Work autonomously with limited oversight from management.
  • Coach and review the work of field-level professionals.
  • Influence policies, practices, and procedures within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in service sales
  • Ability to travel 50% domestically

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • MA/MS degree in a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare markets
  • High level of technical and financial expertise
  • Related professional certifications preferred
