About the position

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will manage the Zoetis Pork business for assigned accounts, serving as the primary contact and key relationships manager. This role involves developing strategic account plans to maximize sales, understanding customer business models, and coordinating all Zoetis activities with assigned accounts. The SAM will spend a significant amount of time on-site with customers, demonstrating the value of Zoetis' portfolio and leading business plan development and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow business partnerships with all business units of assigned customers.
  • Manage Zoetis customer relationships with vertically integrated Global Pork Procedures.
  • Understand customer needs through a comprehensive business plan.
  • Conduct activities and C Suite interactions to deepen strategic partnerships.
  • Spend a minimum of 25% of time on farm, engaging with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the value of the portfolio by understanding customer needs and segments.
  • Utilize CRM functions effectively for data entry and management.
  • Develop, coordinate, and guide account strategy to position Zoetis as a 'Trusted Advisor'.
  • Lead all aspects of the Strategic Account's business plan development and execution.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, programs, and Value Models with assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with Zoetis stakeholders to influence product/service positioning.
  • Provide insights to Zoetis management on market and growth strategies.
  • Coordinate with Field Force and Headquarters resources to leverage synergies.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree required.
  • Five years of demonstrated sales and account management success.
  • Experience in the pork business or equivalent preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on swine farm experience and expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of large-scale pork production and sales of branded products.
  • Marketing acumen involving branded products.
  • Strategic leadership skills.
  • Integrated marketing perspectives.
