About the position

The Strategic Accounts Manager at zyBooks is a pivotal role focused on driving sales growth within higher education institutions. This position involves extensive on-campus engagement with key stakeholders such as faculty and educational technologists to promote zyBooks' innovative online learning solutions. The role requires a dynamic sales leader who can effectively represent the company, build relationships, and close business deals, particularly during peak selling seasons. The Strategic Accounts Manager will also provide onboarding and support for new adoptions, ensuring a seamless transition for educational institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive course, departmental, and divisional sales through extensive on-campus work.
  • Create new leads and move existing leads through the sales pipeline via presentations and face-to-face interactions.
  • Secure meetings with key decision-makers in higher education to raise zyBooks' profile.
  • Participate and lead sessions in national and regional sales meetings and conferences.
  • Provide post-adoption onboarding, training, and support for key adoptions.
  • Assist in identifying key customers to advance zyBooks content and platform.
  • Support planning and implementation of regional and national sales meetings.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of sales experience in the education industry preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Direct line manager experience in the industry preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, meeting or exceeding new business acquisition goals.
  • Experience selling to STEM college-level faculty and administrators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective internal influencer and teammate.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.com.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and able to work independently and creatively.
  • Willingness to travel extensively during active selling cycles.
