About the position

The Strategic Account Manager at GAF is a high-energy sales professional responsible for selling the complete line of GAF residential roofing products. This role involves acting as a liaison between GAF and various stakeholders, including building owners, property managers, and design/build firms, to drive specifications and ensure customer satisfaction. The position emphasizes teamwork, market opportunity identification, sales funnel management, and relationship building, all while promoting GAF's values and products.

Responsibilities

  • Connect and interact regularly with the local GAF sales and management team to grow GAF's market share.
  • Identify market opportunities with national roofing contractors and collaborate with local teams to deliver exceptional service.
  • Manage the sales funnel by progressing potential opportunities to closed wins through value-selling.
  • Utilize strong negotiation tactics to overcome objections and convert challenges into growth opportunities.
  • Compile reports to highlight successes, learning experiences, and strategic next steps for client positioning.
  • Influence the building materials industry by networking and becoming a trusted advisor to customers.
  • Engage and educate customers through meetings and presentations, explaining complex subjects clearly.
  • Participate in customer shows and conventions to develop business relationships with key contractors and distributors.
  • Maintain a positive outlook and balance work with fun, respecting diverse personalities and working towards sales goals.
  • Build rapport with clients and close deals effectively.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • 7+ Years of Sales Related Experience in Building and Materials
  • Strong Facilitation and Presentation Skills
  • Demonstrated history of high relationship building and conflict resolution
  • Ability to maintain a driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Understanding of changes in the roofing industry, especially regarding national expansion and private equity.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Google Suite.
  • CRM experience strongly preferred.
