About the position

The Strategic Accounts Manager for Steep Slope at GAF is a high-energy sales professional responsible for selling GAF's complete line of residential roofing products. This role involves building successful relationships with building owners, property managers, and design/build firms to drive specifications and sales of GAF Steep Slope products. The position emphasizes teamwork, strategic market engagement, and the ability to influence the building materials industry while providing exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Connect and interact regularly with the local GAF sales and management team to grow GAF's market share.
  • Identify market opportunities with national roofing contractors and collaborate with local teams to deliver exceptional service.
  • Manage the sales funnel by progressing and closing sales opportunities through value-selling GAF products.
  • Utilize strong negotiation tactics to leverage value propositions and pricing strategies.
  • Compile reports to highlight performance metrics and identify strategic next steps for exceeding client expectations.
  • Influence the building materials industry by networking and becoming a trusted advisor to customers.
  • Engage and educate customers through meetings and presentations, explaining complex subjects clearly.
  • Develop business relationships with key contractors and distributors to promote GAF products.
  • Maintain a positive outlook and balance work with fun, respecting diverse personalities and working collaboratively to achieve sales goals.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • 7+ Years of Sales Related Experience in Building and Materials
  • Strong Facilitation and Presentation Skills
  • Demonstrated history of high relationship building and conflict resolution
  • Ability to maintain a driver's license

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Understanding of changes in the roofing industry, especially regarding national expansion and private equity
  • Bilingual skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Google Suite
  • CRM experience strongly preferred
