About The Position

  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to a commissioner in achieving individual and commission-wide policy objectives.
  • Identify and track progress of priorities for the assigned commissioner.
  • Collaborate with the commissioner to develop an annual work program and individual initiatives.
  • Conduct research, draft, synthesize, and/or edit briefing papers, memos, reports, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Collaborate with the scheduler to optimize the commissioner's time and meet clerical, logistical, and institutional demands.
  • Advise a commissioner on a diverse range of issues to provide necessary information for informed decisions.
  • Develop and facilitate opportunities for the commissioner to meet and learn with stakeholders.
  • Provide community engagement support by reviewing and developing talking points, recording notes, and providing follow-up.
  • Provide regular committee updates to the Commission and help develop and manage committee work plans and charters.
  • Create meeting materials and reports and provide coordination and logistical support with executive staff.
  • Review incoming correspondence daily and manage outgoing acknowledgment/response.
  • Create and manage a commissioner blog/newsletter content.
