About the position

The Strategic Communications Coordinator is a part-time role focused on enhancing the organization's external communication and media relations. This position is responsible for developing and managing key partnerships that support the organization's mission, identifying collaboration opportunities, and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and elected officials. The coordinator will play a crucial role in leveraging these relationships to enhance the organization's impact.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and distribute press releases, manage relationships with media contacts, and respond to press inquiries.
  • Develop strategic messaging for the organization's brand.
  • Coordinate press events and manage public speaking engagements for key executives.
  • Plan and execute PR campaigns and grassroots advocacy initiatives.
  • Identify, initiate, and cultivate relationships with strategic partners, including corporate sponsors and community organizations.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and maintain ongoing communication with partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create content and execute partnership initiatives.
  • Use data and feedback to refine and improve partnership strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in partnership development, business development, or a similar role.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining successful strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and understanding of mission-driven work.

  • Experience in a nonprofit or association setting.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to identify and leverage new opportunities.
