About The Position

By Light is seeking a Strategic Engagement Planner to join our team in Fort Meade, MD. This role is pivotal in planning and coordinating both international and domestic partnership activities in alignment with U.S. and Department of Defense (DOD) policies. The Strategic Engagement Planner will be responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with DOD international agreements and security cooperation processes. This position requires a keen understanding of foreign disclosure guidance, bilateral agreements, and Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) that impact partnership coordination. The successful candidate will maintain situational awareness of relevant policies and will actively participate in the preparation and execution of Command meetings, conferences, and visits with various stakeholders, including Allies, Services, Agencies, Academia, Industry, and Commands. This includes coordinating visits, managing logistics, and developing command information packages and materials. The role also involves gathering information, providing analysis, and producing written products that support the organization's strategic coordination initiatives and planning objectives. In addition, the Strategic Engagement Planner will plan, facilitate, and attend working groups, meetings, symposiums, and conferences to foster discussions that lead to measurable actions and results. The position requires reviewing and commenting on strategy and strategic planning documents, instructions, policies, and doctrines, both developed internally and received from higher headquarters or external sources. The planner will also draft meeting minutes, executive summaries, action items lists, and other documents related to strategic planning topics, while ensuring proper retention of all documents and materials in accordance with J5 knowledge management practices.
