About the position

The Strategic Event Marketer will be the driving force behind our event marketing efforts, responsible for creating and implementing innovative marketing strategies that generate excitement, drive registration, and sell-out events. This role requires a deep understanding of target audiences, strong analytical skills, and a creative approach to marketing that leverages multiple channels. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Flagship Events Marketing to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies tailored for flagship events. This includes audience segmentation, messaging, and the selection of appropriate promotion channels. In this role, the Strategic Event Marketer will design comprehensive marketing plans aimed at driving event registrations, utilizing a mix of digital, community marketing engagement, content, and traditional marketing tactics. They will be responsible for developing marketing briefs and conducting discovery calls to align with stakeholders' visions and goals to support and execute events effectively. Conducting market research to identify target audiences, understanding their needs, and tailoring marketing messages that resonate with potential attendees will be crucial. The position also involves planning, developing, and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email, WhatsApp, display advertising, and influencer partnerships. The Strategic Event Marketer will collaborate with content creators to produce compelling marketing materials, such as promotional videos, blogs, infographics, and case studies, that effectively communicate the value of attending the event. Enhancing event visibility and driving event registration will be key objectives. Additionally, the role requires developing segmented email marketing campaigns designed to convert leads into registrations, including drip campaigns, reminders, and last-chance promotions. Leveraging social media platforms to create buzz around the event, engage with potential attendees, and drive event registration through targeted ads and organic content will also be part of the responsibilities. The Strategic Event Marketer will analyze the event sales funnel, identify drop-off points, and implement strategies to optimize the member journey and increase conversion rates. Coordination with external vendors, agencies, and partners will be necessary to ensure the successful execution of marketing initiatives. Finally, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, ROI, and engagement metrics will be essential, along with adjusting strategies based on data insights and managing marketing budgets effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in event marketing, with a proven track record of driving ticket sales and selling out events
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media marketing, and content marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong diplomacy skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all levels of associates, members and vendors
  • Adaptable, insightful, empathetic and reliable with a great sense of humor and humility
  • Able to maintain discretion and integrity of confidential information
  • Able to identify problems, research alternatives, provide solutions and/or resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Anticipates member/internal client needs and delivers with clarity
  • Analytical thinker with ability to influence and guide processes with appropriate approach and execution
  • Natural curiosity and desire to learn more; proficiency and interest in applying new technologies and tools
