About the position

Compass Point, an Akima company, is seeking a Strategic Governance and Planning Support Lead to join our team at Fort Meade, MD. This position is crucial in supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in achieving operational efficiency and mission execution effectiveness through the exploitation of emerging technologies. The role involves conducting comprehensive studies to assess the current systems and capabilities against operational needs, identifying inadequacies, and proposing solutions to enhance performance. The successful candidate will engage in technical evaluations, risk management, and collaboration activities to ensure that the technology meets various requirements and integrates seamlessly into the DoD Information Network (DoDIN). In this role, you will be responsible for providing in-depth technical analysis and research to identify vulnerabilities and threat vectors in current and future technologies. You will work closely with government leads to engineer and implement mitigations for any vulnerabilities discovered. Additionally, you will develop processes and artifacts for transitioning new workflows and procedures across the DISA/DoD enterprise, ensuring that all SharePoint needs are met and that information is current and accessible. Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing the feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory conformance of strategic plans, as well as designing and analyzing marketing research to develop strategic recommendations. This position requires a high level of independence and interaction with senior management, utilizing advanced techniques and theories to complete your work effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Completes studies to assess differences between current systems and capabilities and current operations and missions.
  • Conducts studies to evaluate foreign and non-developmental systems and technologies.
  • Performs technical evaluation and enterprise management including risk management and collaboration activities.
  • Provides in-depth technical analysis to identify vulnerabilities and threat vectors in technologies.
  • Works with government leads to engineer and implement mitigations for discovered vulnerabilities.
  • Develops understanding of technology investments and proposes uses to DISA.
  • Considers technology's ability to meet requirements and integrate into DoDIN when developing evaluation criteria.
  • Provides technical support to DISA in enhancing technology assessment initiatives.
  • Develops processes for rolling out new workflows and procedures across DISA/DoD.
  • Manages support for EM-wide SharePoint needs, ensuring information is current and accessible.
  • Assesses and conducts studies, prepares reports, and advises on strategic plans.
  • Designs and analyzes marketing research and develops strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years supporting DoD or DISA Strategy and Governance policies and Technological Road Maps.
  • Minimum of 5 years supporting the exploitation of emerging technologies within DoD or DISA.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with cyber capabilities related to identity, endpoints, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
