About the position

As a Strategic Inventory Manager I at KGPCo Services, LLC, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory, which is the largest single financial asset of KGP Logistics. Your efforts will directly contribute to the company's financial success by minimizing overstock, optimizing inventory turns, and achieving industry-leading fill rates and service levels. This position requires a proactive approach to inventory management, where you will be responsible for determining and implementing stocking strategies for strategic customers and products to enhance service levels. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that customer impacts on inventory metrics are identified, tracked, and communicated effectively. In this role, you will manage inventory for customer accounts with material management service contracts, supporting significant annual revenue and inventory investment. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and developing recommendations for stocking strategies, determining fulfillment methods for customer orders, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet targeted service levels while minimizing risks and operational expenses. You will also implement customer-focused processes to provide value-added services, such as backorder management and inventory visibility, ensuring that relevant metrics are monitored and communicated across the organization. Additionally, you will participate in short-term projects, facilitate collaboration between customers and suppliers, and represent Procurement on strategic customer teams. Your ability to identify root causes of issues and recommend process improvements will be essential in enhancing efficiency and reducing errors in procurement and inventory tasks. Safety compliance is also a critical aspect of this role, as you will be expected to adhere to federal and local safety regulations and participate in job site safety analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory for customer accounts with material management service contracts or other strategic accounts.
  • Analyze, develop recommendations, and implement stocking strategies for customers and strategic suppliers.
  • Develop strategies affecting all aspects of inventory management including forecasting, planning, and purchasing.
  • Implement customer-focused processes to provide value-added services such as backorder management and inventory visibility.
  • Measure, monitor, and communicate inventory and service level metrics back through customer-facing and operational organizations.
  • Participate in short-term projects for customer accounts, promoting collaboration between customers and suppliers.
  • Identify and facilitate root-cause analysis and recommend process improvements for procurement and inventory tasks.
  • Represent Procurement on strategic customer and cross-functional process-improvement teams.

Requirements
