About the position

The Strategic Marketing Manager for Lipid Nanoparticles (LNP) at EMD Serono is responsible for planning and executing the business vision for the mRNA & LNP Modality within the Life Science Services CDMO Business. This role involves collaborating cross-functionally to develop the offer, its value proposition, positioning, and go-to-market strategy, while also supporting marketing and sales efforts. The manager will work closely with the mRNA & LNP Business Lead and the broader marketing team to drive the vision of helping biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies bring their assets to market efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a business owner, supporting the Modality Business Lead in market execution and financial performance of the service portfolio.
  • Conduct global market analysis to identify growth opportunities and threats, including customer and competitor analyses.
  • Track industry trends and identify measures to expand business and improve competitiveness.
  • Translate business strategy into a complete go-to-market strategy and develop effective marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee marketing campaigns and evaluate performance in real time to derive tactical improvements.
  • Create compelling marketing collateral and thought leadership content to drive awareness and generate leads.
  • Guide commercial efforts by advising on customer selection and defining pricing guidance.
  • Co-drive innovation with R&D and PAD teams, supporting business cases and aligning on an innovation roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain collaboration networks with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, chemistry, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in marketing, sales, product management, or product development in the life science or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Understanding of the pre-clinical-to-commercial development process for pharmaceuticals and industry trends.
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally up to 20% as required.
  • Experience using collaborative productivity tools including MS Teams and the Microsoft 365 suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Higher degree in life sciences, chemistry, business, or engineering (Masters / Ph.D.).
  • Experience working for a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO).
  • Experience developing go-to-market strategies, value propositions, marketing plans, and content.
  • Experience assessing customer needs, market needs, capability gaps, and competitor capabilities.
