About the position

As a Strategic Operations Analyst, you will engage in a variety of analytical tasks aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of functional programs. Your primary responsibilities will include applying both qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to identify and resolve issues within these programs. You will be expected to document planning and programming decisions in formats that meet established requirements, ensuring that all information and recommendations are relevant, adequate, sustainable, attainable, accurate, and complete. This role requires a deep dive into analyzing, developing, and evaluating issues, ultimately leading to the formulation of recommendations that address substantive problems within the Department of Defense's Major Variety of DOTMLPF functional programs. In addition to analytical tasks, you will participate in the development of systems and programs, making recommendations for modifications that align with doctrine, tactics, and operational concepts. Your involvement in strategic planning will be crucial as you work to improve organizational direction and focus, utilizing various strategic planning tools and techniques. This position is integral to the operational success of the organization, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in work operations. The role also entails a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time, which may involve attending meetings, conferences, or other events relevant to your duties. You will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity, as the position requires obtaining and maintaining a Secret security clearance. Responsibilities

  • Apply qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to resolve issues within functional programs.
  • Document planning and programming decisions in appropriate formats to meet requirements.
  • Verify the relevancy, adequacy, sustainability, attainability, accuracy, and completeness of information and recommendations related to assigned tasks.
  • Analyze, develop, and evaluate issues and develop recommendations to resolve substantive problems and issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in major variety of DOTMLPF functional programs.
  • Participate in the development and make recommendations for modifications to systems and programs around doctrine, tactics, and concepts of operations.
  • Participate in strategic planning to improve organizational direction and focus using strategic planning tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes preparing and providing briefings on program operations to senior leaders, designing and conducting comprehensive studies, and developing solutions to support command operational and contingency areas.
  • Experience must include paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in strategic planning and organizational performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with DOTMLPF functional programs and their operational requirements.
