About the position

The Strategic Partner Sales Director at Encore is a pivotal role focused on driving new revenue growth and enhancing customer opportunities through strategic partnerships with Encore Chain Partners. This position emphasizes the importance of building proactive relationships with key contacts within the hotel partner senior sales teams, aiming to increase awareness and adoption of Encore's products and services. The successful candidate will articulate the value of a combined service offering, fostering deeper collaboration with Encore to ensure that hotel partners are aware of the full range of services available to them. This role is essential in establishing trust with hotel partner sales teams, which will facilitate direct engagement with large opportunity end-user event customers, ultimately leading to the creation of multi-year relationships. The Strategic Partner Sales Director will report to the Group Director of Global Sales, who will provide guidance on sales strategies tailored to each partner brand. The role requires a proactive approach to business development, aligning with strategic Chain Partners to deliver comprehensive service offerings and develop long-term selling opportunities. The focus will be on senior customer titles and budget owners, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction as relationships develop and business opportunities arise. Key responsibilities include strategic consultative selling across multiple industries, maintaining close relationships with prospects and clients, and developing customer pursuit plans. The director will also drive alignment with chain partner global sales organizations, manage an assigned business portfolio, and engage with key stakeholders to understand their needs and goals. This role will involve securing customer-facing appointments, leading consultations, and leveraging Encore's resources to support sales initiatives. Additionally, the director will oversee account management, internal communications, and revenue management to ensure the successful execution of strategies that drive year-over-year revenue growth and new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new revenue growth and customer opportunities by partnering with Encore Chain Partners.
  • Develop proactive relationships with key contacts across the hotel partner senior sales team.
  • Articulate the value of Encore products and services to end customers.
  • Establish trust with hotel partner sales teams to earn engagement with large opportunity end-user event customers.
  • Focus on senior customer titles and budget owners to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Build strategies and customer pursuit plans for event solutions.
  • Drive alignment with chain partner global sales organizations for a combined approach to winning business.
  • Own assigned business portfolio and proactively pursue leads.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders including SVPs and Corporate Directors of Events.
  • Secure customer-facing appointments and conduct sales calls for revenue opportunities.
  • Coordinate and lead customer consultations and presentations using Encore resources.
  • Leverage Encore thought leadership and physical support for in-person meetings.
  • Own sales activations at Encore and Chain events, developing marketing campaigns and content.
  • Maintain active membership in key industry organizations and engage with key members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of proven success in a sales-focused account management environment.
  • Experience in selling over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on deal-making.
  • Natural communicator and networker with relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in using customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Articulate with a confident telephone manner and focused listening skills.
  • Exceptional customer service standards.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Some travel required for face-to-face meetings.
