The Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, a fully autonomous ride-hailing service, and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over one million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving tens of millions of miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 13+ U.S. states. The Business Development and Partnerships team helps plan Waymo's dynamic future and drive our go-to-market strategy. We work cross-functionally and use quantitative and qualitative analysis to build forward-looking commercial partnerships that achieve Waymo's strategic business objectives. As a member of this team, you will have a significant impact on executing Waymo's commercial deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage partnerships by identifying and implementing scalable solutions to enhance efficiency, maximize mutual value, and reach important milestones within our partnerships ecosystems.
  • Craft and build a strategic engagement plan for Waymo One to stimulate demand, boost ridership and enhance rider experience growth through partnerships.
  • Develop and manage a diverse pipeline of potential partnerships across several dynamic industries in Waymo's current and future cities, such as identifying B2B growth opportunities and expanding the entertainment options within Waymo's in-car experience.
  • Assess and maintain partner engagement through the cultivation of trusted relationships, gaining a comprehensive understanding of partners' priorities and challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, product, finance, marketing, communications, strategy, and legal, to ensure understanding and achievement of goals crucial to Waymo's success.
  • Travel domestically to Waymo cities 2x a quarter.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years in business development or strategic partnerships in the technology or transportation sector.
  • Experience structuring, negotiating and closing strategic partnership agreements; including content licensing agreements, affiliate partnerships, and growth partnerships.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, legal, marketing and operations.
