About the position

The Strategic Planning Acquisition and Mission Integration Specialist (SME) at KBR plays a crucial role in developing and delivering acquisition strategies for Space Sensing programs. This position involves translating technical information, assisting in acquisition planning, advising senior government leaders, and overseeing staff activities to ensure compliance with various policies and directives. The role is pivotal in enhancing national security through effective management of space-based sensor technologies and integration of networks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver acquisition strategies for Space Sensing programs.
  • Translate technical information and apply critical thinking to improve space-based sensor technology.
  • Assist in acquisition planning and development of technical requirements and documents.
  • Support and advise acquisition and mission integration functions.
  • Advise senior government leaders on program challenges and support system program reviews.
  • Oversee activities of less senior staff and ensure compliance with program office processes.

Requirements

  • Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • 15+ years of experience in acquisition and integration.
  • MA/MS degree.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with database and repository tools (SharePoint, Livelink, Excel, Access, Task Management Tracker).
  • Experience with Defense Travel System (DTS).
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition regulations and activities.
  • Familiarity with SSC, Space Force, and DoD directives and initiatives.
  • Understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with various Higher Headquarters located at the Pentagon and other military bases.
  • Familiarity with Missile Warning, Tracking, and Defense technologies.
  • Familiarity with Tactical ISR capabilities/technologies.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Monitoring systems.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Advanced degree in Program/Project Management.
  • Strong ability to translate technical content into effective communication products.
  • Knowledge of space acquisition processes and relevant government organizations.
  • Knowledge of the PPBE process and acquisition-related communication documents.
  • Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and synthesize information from multiple sources.
