About the position

The Strategic Pricing & Contract Analyst at Abbott Laboratories plays a crucial role in supporting the Medical Devices US Sales Division by applying business management principles and financial concepts to enhance sales performance and minimize risks. This position involves extensive collaboration with various departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to conduct pricing analysis, develop pricing strategies, and manage product purchase contracts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-pressure environment, utilizing analytical skills to provide actionable insights and support the sales team effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pricing analysis and assess P&L impact.
  • Develop pricing strategies and make informed decisions.
  • Create and execute product purchase contracts.
  • Support the field sales team with pricing and contract needs.
  • Assist the Contract Manager with price approvals and financial impact analysis.
  • Work within audit guidelines for contract approval and creation.
  • Train field sales on tools, policies, and procedures related to pricing and contracts.
  • Perform quantitative analysis to support area and regional Sales Leaders.
  • Manage the contract creation process from start to finish, including analysis and documentation.
  • Execute formal requests for proposals (RFPs) as needed.
  • Provide reports and analysis to department and senior management.
  • Collaborate with business operations partners to streamline system operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business, financial, or strategic pricing and contracting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under general supervision.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with mathematical modeling and large data sets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in business or finance.
  • Previous experience in the medical device industry.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Experience with consignment inventory.
