Wärtsilä SAM Electronics GmbH / Marine Electrical Systems inside Wärtsilä is one of the world's leading electrical system integrators in shipbuilding and specializes in special ships, naval vessels and large yachts in Germany. We are now looking for a Strategic Purchaser (m/f/d) to join our team working for a better future. The preferred location for the position is in Hamburg, Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing supplier base and responsible for performance for own area of responsibility
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Lead role in supplier negotiations
  • Ensure supplier contract coverage for own area of responsibility
  • Creating and updating suppliers agreements and other needed information in SAP and document management system needed to perform operational purchasing
  • Ensuring Quality, Delivery, Lead Time and Cost development of materials and services for own area of responsibility
  • Gathering and analysing spend and supplier data, executing benchmarking and providing data to the relevant functions
  • Support maintenance of products and systems. Including development projects when needed
  • Support end of life actions on supplier side of products and systems
  • Support Sales with gathering purchasing price of products, systems and/or services
  • Be active member of Category team if applicable
  • Support non-conformity/warranty process management in escalated issues

Requirements

  • MSc or BSc in Economics, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management
  • Approx. 5 years in strategic purchasing with proven results
  • 2-3 years in project purchasing of large systems/solutions or in operational purchasing (beneficial for complete process knowledge)
  • Technical background in electrical/automation (advantageous)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP
  • Basic legal and contract knowledge
  • Fluent in German and English
