About the position

The Strategic Purchasing Manager at SWARCO McCain, Inc. is responsible for directing and managing all supply chain operations, material planning, and strategic procurement. This role aims to ensure a coordinated approach to procurement that delivers the best value for the company while maintaining high-quality standards and fostering supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
• Evaluating the total cost of procurement, including delivery, administration, and quality control.
• Negotiating contracts to secure the best value, considering price, quality, reliability, and innovation.
• Ensuring suppliers meet quality standards to reduce costs and improve market position.
• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
• Managing and guiding the purchasing team to align with strategic goals.
• Hiring, training, and developing staff to enhance their skills and performance.
• Setting performance metrics and conducting regular evaluations to ensure team objectives are met.
• Working closely with other departments to understand procurement needs and ensure efficient processes.
• Complying with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a purchasing and/or material management role required.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
• Previous MRP/ERP experience required.
• BS degree in business administration or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices.
• Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems/tools.
• Leadership experience and strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrates personal integrity and ethical behavior.

• Attention to detail.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
