About the position

The Strategic Research Manager is a pivotal leader within the Consumer Insights and Business Strategy department at Royal Caribbean Group, specifically for the Celebrity Cruises brand. This full-time position is based on-site in Miami, Florida, and reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Consumer Insights. The role is crucial in managing projects and spearheading the development and planning of strategic roadmaps that drive the company's direction. The Strategic Research Manager will be responsible for planning research initiatives that provide actionable insights, collaborating with both internal and external partners to maximize the value of the team's contributions for each engagement. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a proven track record in managing teams to deliver impactful results. In this role, the Strategic Research Manager will lead and mentor a team of analysts and researchers, ensuring that research projects are conducted effectively and that actionable insights are derived. The manager will oversee the development and execution of research projects aimed at understanding consumer preferences, market trends, and the competitive landscape, ensuring that deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality. The findings from these research initiatives will inform business strategy, marketing, and product development. Additionally, the manager will utilize storytelling techniques to communicate complex data and insights in a manner that resonates with various audiences, thereby enhancing the impact of the research. The position also involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with external research partners and vendors, exploring and applying new technologies, and creating business cases for potential investments. Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts and researchers to conduct research projects and derive actionable insights, while managing the budget effectively.
  • Lead the development and execution of research projects to understand consumer preferences, market trends, and competitive landscape, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.
  • Use findings from research and data analysis to inform business strategy, marketing and product development.
  • Utilize storytelling techniques to communicate complex data and insights in a way that resonates with different audiences.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external research partners and vendors.
  • Explore and apply new technologies, including the development of business cases for potential investment.

Requirements

  • Five-year Bachelor's or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in consumer research, strategy, market analysis, or related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Experience managing teams and projects, collaborating with various teams to align and influence strategic decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all aspects of research and analysis.
  • Apply strategic thinking to develop insights that drive business growth and profitability.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint required.
