About the position

The Strategic Sales Manager (SSM) is a key field sales role at SKF, responsible for managing and developing relationships with large, strategic OEM customers in the Agricultural industry. This position focuses on improving customer engagement and driving sales growth for SKF USA's OEM products. The SSM will ensure a world-class customer experience throughout the sales process, manage daily sales activities, and leverage customer feedback to support product development and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out strong customer account management practices.
  • Review, negotiate, execute, and manage customer agreements.
  • Mitigate business risk associated with key customer inventory, forecasting, and open orders.
  • Build, deepen and sustain customer relationships.
  • Drive critical KPI's of customer scorecard.
  • Deliver consistent year-over-year sustainable profit growth within the assigned portfolio of business.
  • Manage assigned portfolio for share retention, revenue and profit growth, quality, delivery, and technical support.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of projects for profitable growth.
  • Acquire new business through aggressive targeting and sales techniques.
  • Proactively obtain and leverage voice of the customer (VOC) information.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics including revenue and margin performance, project pipeline, and competitive threats.
  • Support and participate in the Strategic Plan development by providing market trends information.
  • Build and sustain strong internal partner relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Application/Sales Engineering, Business Development, Sales or Sales Management for an industrial products company.
  • Secure and in-depth knowledge of the associated industry and customer products.
  • Proven track record of success and career progression within an industrial products company.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time domestically and internationally.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • High level of business acumen and accountability.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple competing tasks while providing a flawless Customer Experience.
