About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst plays a vital role in managing procurement processes for fixed assets, parts, tooling materials, and services. This position involves securing and analyzing quotations, negotiating with suppliers, and developing long-term sourcing strategies to align with the company's goals. The analyst will work with a significant annual budget and will be responsible for expediting procurement, coordinating quality matters, and maintaining supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Secure and analyze quotations from suppliers.
• Negotiate with domestic and international suppliers for purchasing.
• Develop and recommend supply sources and implement long-term sourcing strategies.
• Expedite procurement of parts or materials in short or critical supply.
• Perform market analyses and competitive evaluations.
• Coordinate quality matters, engineering, and price changes between company components and suppliers.
• Assist in negotiating and settling with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Broad expertise in purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban, and supplier development.
• Strong negotiation abilities and analytical skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including with executives or in international contexts.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
• Understanding of economic principles and financial markets.
• Competent in computerized procurement systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
